Who we are, and why we exist
Ashnoor is a mustard oil brand run by a family that has been in this trade since 1998. For twenty years we sold other people's oil across a counter in Agra. That is long enough to learn which names a shopkeeper reaches for without being asked, and which ones he has to talk a customer into. In 2018 we put our own name on a bottle.
That is a harder thing than it sounds. A family does not walk in and ask for mustard oil. They ask for the one they had last time — wahi wala dena. Earning that one sentence is the entire business. It is why we would rather be plain about what is in the pack than clever about what it does. We make no health promises and no miracle claims. We promise the same oil, in the same pack, every time, carrying a batch code that leads back to a person who answers for it.
We are still a small house. These roles are open because the work has outgrown the people doing it — not because a deck said to hire. Whoever takes these seats will set how a young brand behaves for a long time.
So, who are we looking for?
Online, nobody smells the oil and nobody knows the shopkeeper. The listing does all the work — the title, the images, the price, the rating, and whether the pack is in stock at the moment somebody searched. Get those right and the product sells itself. Get them wrong and it does not matter how good the oil is.
We sell across marketplaces and quick commerce, and each behaves differently. One rewards content and reviews. Another rewards availability and ad spend. All of them will happily let you spend money to hide a problem you could have fixed for free — an out-of-stock pack, a bad main image, an unanswered one-star review from four months ago.
This role owns all of it. It is a job for someone who checks things — daily, at the SKU level, on the actual platform rather than in a monthly report.
What you’ll be owning
Listings and content, per SKU
Titles, bullets, images, A+ content, category and keyword placement, correct pack sizes and correct declarations. You will keep every SKU on every platform accurate and current, and you will notice when a platform quietly changes something on its own.
Availability, which is the whole game
Stock in the right warehouse, appointments and inward planning, sensible days of cover, and no listing sitting unavailable at the moment demand shows up. Most lost online sales are not lost to a competitor — they are lost to our own out-of-stock.
Advertising and what it returns
Planning and running platform ad spend against a return we agree on, not against whatever the platform recommends. You will know the difference between spend that opened a new customer and spend that paid for a sale we were getting anyway.
Ratings, reviews and questions
Reading every review, replying properly, and — this is the important half — carrying genuine product or pack complaints back into the business instead of managing them on the platform. A repeated complaint about a leaking cap is not a review problem.
Returns, claims and reconciliation
Return rates by reason, damage claims, platform deductions and settlement. You will reconcile what we were paid against what we sold, and chase the gaps. Online margins are thin enough that unclaimed deductions matter.
The honest platform read
A regular, plain summary of what is selling, at what real margin after fees, ads, returns and damages — and which platforms deserve more of our attention. We would rather know that one channel is not working than grow it for the sake of a chart.
What we’re looking for
2–4 years running e-commerce or quick-commerce accounts for a consumer brand or seller — hands on the seller panels, not managing an agency that had its hands on them.
Beyond the years
- You have owned SKU-level listings, availability and ad spend, and can talk about all three in the same sentence.
- You are comfortable in a spreadsheet and can reconcile a settlement report without dreading it.
- You have handled a real platform problem — a listing taken down, a wrong deduction, a stuck inward — and got it resolved.
- You check things daily. This role punishes people who look once a week.
- You understand that a good ROAS on a channel losing money after returns and fees is not a good result.
You’re probably not right for this if
- Your experience is mainly reporting on agency-run accounts.
- You are drawn to growth numbers and less interested in the operational plumbing underneath them. Here the plumbing is most of the job.
- You would be uncomfortable telling us a channel is not worth what we are spending on it.
How we’ll know you’re doing this well
Our listings are accurate and in stock when people search. Availability stops being the reason we missed a month. Ad spend is defended by a return we agreed on in advance. Reviews get answered, and the real complaints inside them reach the people who can fix them. And every rupee a platform deducted is either correct or being chased.
Hiring here is free at every stage. Ashnoor never asks a candidate for money — if anyone does in our name, it is fraud.
